Riptides is born in 2019, founded by Riccardo Amoruso (drums) and Matteo Salvestrini (bass). The main influences are Periphery, Northlane, Volumes, After The Burial, with typical aspects of Cynic, Obscura and Sadist. Laid the foundations of the band, Inti Lihué (guitar) joins the band as part of the rhythmic section. Riptides is the band’s name but also a “concept”; then the band starts to write new material with a bit of djent, deathcore and progressive metal.

During the next year, a lot of musicians tried to join the band as singers and second guitarists, until may 2021 when Ferdinando Mannino (vocal) became the official singer; with these members the band started to write unreleased tracks.
The last member is Francesca Mancini (guitar) who joined the band in january 2022, then they started recordings.
Riptides offers a mixture between djent, death metal and strong progressive influences, with also electronic music vibes. Every member has a distinct background, quite different from each other.
As ocean currents, Riptides’s music is fluid, without borders and constantly changes.

I Riptides nascono nel 2019, fondati da Riccardo Amoruso (batteria) e Matteo Salvestrini (basso). Le principali influenze sono Periphery, Northlane, Volumes, After the Burial con aspetti musicali tipici di band quali Cynic, Obscura e Sadist. Gettate le fondamenta della band, Inti Lihué (chitarra) si unisce alla già presente sezione ritmica. Riptides viene scelto sia come nome sia come “concept” del gruppo; la band inizia a scrivere il primo materiale, a metà tra Djent, Deathcore e Progressive Metal.

Nell’arco dell’anno successivo, diversi musicisti si avvicendano nei ruoli di cantante e chitarrista fino a Maggio 2021, quando Ferdinando Mannino (voce) entra in pianta stabile nella formazione; con un nucleo solido e grande motivazione, il gruppo si mette al lavoro su brani inediti.

A completare la formazione entra Francesca Mancini (chitarra) nel gennaio 2022 e di lì a poco, i Riptides entrano in studio per incidere parte del materiale scritto durante l’anno precedente.

Il genere musicale proposto è una commistione tra Djent e Death Metal, con forti contaminazioni Prog e elementi di Musica Elettronica.
Ciascun membro del gruppo ha background estremamente diversi e porta elementi musicali dei generi più disparati.
Così come le correnti oceaniche, la musica dei Riptides è fluida, priva di confini e cambia costantemente corso.
Salite a bordo e godetevi questo viaggio musicale, perdendovi come naufraghi, tra le note dell’orizzonte infinito e le profondità abissali dell’oceano.
